Roxie Strand, NMD

Dr. Roxie Strand is a licensed naturopathic medical doctor (NMD) and the owner of Creative Healing Solutions in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Dr. Strand graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2002, where she graduated at the top of her class and received the Outstanding Student Award.  She focuses her practice on creating healing relationships with her patients and guiding them through their own journey of health.  Dr. Strand has an exciting and eclectic practice, working with people of all ages, and working with people experiencing a variety of health concerns.  She utilizes Acupuncture, Bio-Identical Hormones, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, IV Therapy, Nutrition, and Lifestyle Counseling as the foundation for treating the whole person and promoting the true healing power of nature...the greatest healer of all. 

Philosophy:  Dr. Strand’s philosophy is simple…to listen, to respect, and to provide knowledge and advice based on individual needs.   Dr. Strand recognizes that each person she works with is unique and has individual needs.  She understands that we each have our own definition of optimal health and she believes in the potential of each individual to achieve that goal.  She respects that one thing will not work for every person, so together with her patients, Dr. Strand creates an individual therapy plan that encompasses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of each person.

Background:  Dr. Strand was born and raised in Mitchell, SD.  After graduating from high school, she moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University where she earned her B.S. degree in Microbiology.  Shortly after graduating from ASU, she joined the Peace Corps and taught Math/Science in Cameroon, West Africa.  Upon returning from the Peace Corps, Dr. Strand worked with the homeless in central Phoenix for two years before attending naturopathic medical school.  It is through these vast experiences that Dr. Strand has gained her empathy and compassion for people and has truly learned to value individuality and to celebrate diversity of all people.

Other Interests:  Dr. Strand loves to teach & educate people about health & wellness...both inside & outside of the US.  She has been a faculty member at RainStar University, teaching Basic Science courses.  She has regular speaking engagements throughout Arizona, educating people about various topics including hormones & menopause, stress, detoxification, and medical weight loss.  Dr. Strand recently helped design the BioDiets Medical Weight Loss Program.  She is very proud of this program as it has proven to very effective and life altering for many involved. 

Dr. Strand's true passion lies in traveling to developing countries and offering her help and compassion to those in desparate need.  For the past 4 years, she has traveled to Ghana, West Africa, and Mozambique, East Africa to help the people of those countries.  She traveled to Ghana with an amazing organization called Peacework Medical Projects (www.peaceworkmedical.com).  In Mozambique, she is the medical director of an orphanage.
